rest

When training for a sporting event and following a programme, there can be a real feel of GUILT when/if you miss a session….but REST is important.

I have a training plan that is the “ideal world” scenario, but let’s face it when is life with three toddlers tearing around the house, a business to manage, a junior triathlon club to organise, a house to keep in some sort of order and a husband to tend to (!)  ideal???

You have to be flexible with your training programme and most importantly listen to your body. YOU KNOW YOUR BODY BEST.

Having increased my training volume a fair amount over the past couple of weeks, it is really important I let my body and soul repair before I ask it to do even more.

A day without putting lycra is a necessity for me – one less outfit to wash, if nothing else!

I do find, that once I have had a rest day I feel energised to really tackle my next training session rather than going into it half heartedly.

REST IS AS IMPORTANT AS THE TRAINING
