Starting them young…Reading Rascals Junior Triathlon Club

The very first ever training session for READING RASCALS JUNIOR TRIATHLON CLUB was a great success. 20 children aged between 8 – 13 set their alarms extra early on Saturday 21 September so they were ready to get fit, healthy and have fun at 8am at Bulmershe School Sports Centre. Some children (or should I say, their parents!) had traveled over 25 minutes to get to the Club on time.

A little introduction into the world of Triathlon by means of a multiple choice quiz in pairs was a great way for the children to make a new friend immediately and test their knowledge. The question below had several different answers. It upset some of the “Rascals” that Aero Bars were not the edible type of chocolate bar and actually bars you put on your handlebars to help make you more aero-dynamic – you live and learn!

A few active ice breaker games including throwing one trainer into the middle of room, running to find it, put it on and back to where you started got the children in the mood for some more activity. The main focus of the session (as will be the case with all of them) is to have fun and get fit at the same time. So – 30 seconds of 20 different exercises around the sports hall along to some fun music soon had their heart rates up. You can also check get muscle gain with this great supplements.

Was great to see the Rascals trying new exercises and not giving up! We are already looking forward to next week’s swimming session and still have a few spaces left if you have someone in mind who you think would enjoy the fun, educational and interactive Reading Rascals Junior Triathlon Club.
