Juggling your way through life….

Ever feel like you’re juggling?!! Life throws us lots of things to juggle at any one time.

I’m often asked “how do you do it?” as I have various “things” to juggle in my life. (Scroll 🔽 for the list!)

Basically, it’s my choice to juggle and I love everything I do, most of the time!!!! Parenting probably is the most challenging “job!”
However, the one thing that does keep me grounded and sane is EXERCISE and MOVEMENT. That is my “me-time”, my escape!! I’ve never been one for watching TV – my Mum used to try and put me in front of a TV for 5 minutes peace but I wasn’t having any of it!!! I now feel her pain!!
How do I juggle?

⚾
Write lists – I’m a list writer… If it’s not written down it’s unlikely to happen!!

⚾
Plan my time – I still have a paper diary and would be lost without it!! I physically write in my diary when I’m going to exercise, all the kids’ activities, things that need to be done for events i.e. submitting risk assessments, writing event management plans, ordering medals etc.

⚾
Delegate – there are some things that really aren’t my forte such as bookkeeping and designing flyers/websites. I delegate these to professionals!

⚾
Accept help – I was not proud to accept I needed help when we had 3 children under 2 and we hired an Au Pair to live with us for 6 months to help me function and keep the children fed!! It’s no different in our business – we couldn’t do it without help. We are very lucky we have so many people that offer their time to help us at events and promote our events for us.

⚾
Be flexible – not everything goes to plan and there are times when the juggling gets unbalanced… At these times, I remind myself to be grateful for what I can do and ask myself is there anything I could delegate? But ultimately, I make sure I am making time to exercise.

⚾
Involve the kids if I can. Max (our 7 year old son) now comes along to every event and earns football cards!! He is actually really helpful and there has to be some fabulous life skills in there too…
Exercise is medicine…in so many ways.
I’ve yet to master the art of juggling whilst juggling – but it certainly looks fun!!!

As promised, here’s my list of everything I juggle 👇
– Mum of three loud and energetic children – son aged 7, and twin daughters aged 6
– Business Owner of Barnes Fitness organising 12 + events a year
– Event Director for MST Events organising 4 events a year
– Head Coach/Founder of Reading Rascals Junior Triathlon Club organising weekly training sessions
– Events and Fundraising Manager at First Days Children’s Charity
– Virtual Studio Instructor with Elite Conditioning
Phew!
